Frequently asked questions

Mould is almost always never just what you’re able to see, it spreads like wildfire once disturbed, and often underestimated to what it can do to your health. That’s why we recommend professional mould removal/cleaning if the spot is larger than the size of your hand, or if there is water damage present. We use commercial grade non-toxic anti-microbial mould cleaners and techniques that ensure mould does not spread throughout your house, it’s removed, and stays that way for a longer period of time.

We use a non-toxic proprietary blend formulated locally by a chemical engineer. For our super sensitive clients, we also have a completely natural option (it’s proven to be equally as effective & widely used in the United States restoration industry). The active component is an oil. Please contact us for a copy of a safety data sheet.

Yes, mould can spread — and quite easily if conditions are right. Mould releases microscopic spores into the air, which can travel and settle on new surfaces, especially in areas with moisture, humidity, or water damage. If left untreated, even a small patch of mould can quickly grow and contaminate larger areas of a property, making early detection and treatment important to prevent bigger issues.

We kindly ask that all clients vacate the property (including furry friends) during the treatment process. Professional mould remediation involves the use of specialised equipment, products, and techniques to remove mould from your home. It also requires a controlled environment to be effective. If you stay in the home during the process, you may inadvertently disrupt the work being done, which can result in incomplete or ineffective remediation.

Then, there’s the health risks (yikes!). Mould can cause respiratory problems, allergic reactions, and other health issues, especially for people with pre-existing conditions. Our technicians are equipped with full PPE to protect them from any airborne particles during the process. Professional mould remediation often involves the use of heavy equipment, products, & other tools that can be dangerous if not used properly. Staying home during the remediation process can put you at risk of injury or exposure to these hazards.

No, we don’t.

If you can smell mould but can’t see any visible growth, it’s often a sign that there could be hidden mould or water damage behind walls, under floors, or in other concealed areas. In these cases, it’s a good idea to perform professional air testing to assess the indoor air quality and help determine if there’s an active or existing mould issue contributing to the contamination. Air testing can provide valuable insights into the presence and levels of mould spores in your environment, helping guide the next steps for investigation and remediation if necessary.

With any mould remediation job, the aim is to remove the mould, not just to kill it. ‘Dead’ mould can still release chemical byproducts (mycotoxins) that can be detrimental to your health long-term.
